Since 2008, Consorzio Catania Ricerche has been member of Enterprise Europe Network – EEN, through the participation at the south-Italian consortium BridgEconomies. EEN has been created by the Directorate General Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission, with the aim to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), universities and research centers in exploiting and developing their potential of innovation and internationalisation, in the Single Market and beyond.

BridgEconomies consortium groups together 11 partners, located in the Italian regions Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia and Sicily, with long-standing experience in providing services to SMEs. In Sicily, EEN work through three partners:

Consorzio Catania Ricerche
Consorzio Arca (enterprises and Palermo University)
Confindustria Sicilia (association of enterprises)

Enterprise Europe Network, with more than 600 contact points and more than 4.000 experts in 51 Countries in the world, is the most important European network for the provision of expertise and services to enterprises and research centers. It complements the activities that, in the past, were carried out by the Innovation Relay Center (IRC) MEDIA, of which the Consorzio Catania Ricerche has been member since 1995.

Thanks to a wide range of tailored services, the network aims at promoting knowledge economy, accessing new markets and informing about activities and opportunities offered by the EU. In particular, the network gives assistance for:

• access to EU funds (Horizon 2020, COSME)
• internationalisation
• business cooperation and technology transfer
• exploitation of research results.

Enterprise Europe Network helps SMEs to undertake innovation processes, increase competitiveness in new markets, realise business projects abroad, access European funds and other grants, free of charge.
