Consorzio Catania Ricerche is a non-profit Institution, born in 1987 among Public Bodies and local industries.

The Consorzio was created to be an effective link among academic research, CNR and industrial research. The main aims are know-how transfer, technological innovation spreading, applied research, advanced training, services for companies and territorial development.

Those aims are pursued thanks to the Consortium's main organisations:

The Innovation Centre, which takes care of management, studies' centre and services. Its site is in Via Cappuccini n. 2, 95124 Catania;

The Laboratory of Surfaces and Interfaces (Superlab), born thanks to the common efforts of Consorzio Catania Ricerche, University of Catania (Department of Chemical Sciences) and STMicroelectronics. Superlab is located in the industrial plant of STMicroelectronics of Catania over an area of 182 square meters;

BRIDG€conomies - Enterprise Europe Network located in Via Cappuccini n. 2, 95124 Catania.

The training activity and the support for new graduated to enter into the working market, consist of awarding degree awards for final dissertations prepared together with Catania University and Industries, scholarships, co-operation contracts, “ad hoc” training courses and the creation of databases.
Thanks to those activities the Consortium has awarded about one hundred Degree Awards and about fifty scholarships, involving several industries (most Sicilian ones). Furthermore, about one hundred Catania University new graduated have been started off on a job thanks to contracts or scholarships.
